Season's of Change

Happy Autumn to all. Here in southern Minnesota, some of the trees are just turning colors and showing the phases of autumn. I lived in Virginia and miss the Cherry Blossoms in the spring but the fall colors in Minnesota are one sight that I love every year.

And as the seasons change, so do the season's in people's lives. My children have only been in school for 6 weeks and I can already see a change in them. They are growing up too fast for me. I want them to stay young just a little while longer. My daughter had to get glasses. Yesterday I took her to pick them out and she picked out very trendy ones that made her look much older than the 16 she is. Then I spent some time with my son on the ride home and just how he talks, he is not the little boy I remember him to be. He has become such a young man. He still has a very vivid imagination but the words that he uses are more grown up. What happened to my children? Who told them they could grow up? Part of me wants my babies back. Then when the 16-year-old gets mad at me and starts yelling, then I'm ready to send her off to college.

I guess I just need to remember that no matter how big they get, they will always be my babies. Granted I won't treat them that way but they are my children and I need to let them go through their seasons of change too. Soon I will be going through my next season of change. I just hope that they see me as wonderful as I see them.

Enjoy the seasons, whether it is in your children or just the beauty of nature. Take time to enjoy the little things. Everyone needs time for themselves!
